Access fund

Pay It Forward

Access should not depend on who has money at the right moment.

Pay It Forward is a broad Sahana access fund for offering support, held quietly and without strings attached.

Available paths

What this is

Pooled contributions for full or partial access support across Sahana offerings.

What this is not

Not charity theater, a rescue model, a donor preference program, or one-to-one donor pairing.

How funds may help

Funds may support full sessions, partial sessions, urgent reduced-rate access, or continuity when financial strain would interrupt support.

Why this matters

Support often becomes necessary because systems have already failed someone. At the moment people most need care, they may also be facing medical instability, housing instability, disability, illness, crisis, or financial strain.

Community sponsorship helps remove money as the final barrier without turning access into a performance of need.

How contributions are used

  • Contributions are pooled and applied to eligible Sahana offering access.
  • Funds may support one person fully or several people partially.
  • Allocation is handled with discretion and integrity.
  • No identifying information about people receiving support is shared with sponsors.

Transparency and ethics

  • Human dignity first.Access support must not become a spectacle.
  • No coercion.People receiving support do not owe personal disclosure, performance, or gratitude to sponsors.
  • No extraction.Financial support should not create access to someone's story, case, or identity.
  • No moral leverage.Donors do not direct who receives support or how care unfolds.
